Family Fitbit Challenge

We all got fitbits for Christmas. These are the rules for our family challenge:

Goal: 7,000 steps/day or about 20,000 steps/28 days.

At the end of each month the average of the last 28 days will be looked at. Those who reach this goal of averaging 7,000 steps/day will have their names entered in a drawing. The person in 1st place gets 3 extra tickets in the drawing, 2nd place gets 2 extra, and 3rd place gets one extra ticket.

Three tickets will be drawn. First one will get $5, 2nd one will get $3, and the last one will get $2. A person can have his name drawn twice, but not 3 times. If the same person is drawn 1st and  2nd, they will only get $7 and the 3rd person drawn will get $3. If the same person is drawn 2nd and 3rd, each winner will get $5.

These aren't necessarily updated today (and at least one person didn't have the charger so wasn't wearing the fitbit), but this is what is showing this evening (the "you" being Alex...who isn't too motivated yet, but track practice will be starting soon):

Good luck everyone!

Great quote (about something I can relate to)

Dr. Thomas Fuller, an English churchman who lived in the 1600’s, wrote:

“I discover an arrant laziness in my soul. For when I am to read a chapter in the Bible, before I begin I look where it ends. And if it ends not on the same side, I cannot keep my hands from turning over the leaf, to measure the length on the other side; if it swells to many verses, I begin to grudge. Surely my heart is not rightly affected. Were I truly hungry after heavenly food, I would not complain of meat. Scourge, Lord, this laziness of my soul; make the reading of your Word, not a penance, but a pleasure to me; so I may esteem that chapter in your Word the best which is the longest” (Rev. Dr. Thomas Fuller, quoted by Sterling W. Sill: The Quest for Excellence, p. 139).
